Life’s Scorecard

Life’s Scorecard

Growing up in Bharat (India), Diwali was always a blast. Picture this: five days of non-stop celebration, each with its own vibe. It’s all about holistic life attitude, embracing the rich Bharatiya (Indian) heritage. We’re talking about worshiping Goddess Lakshmi for wealth, Goddess Mahakali for strength, and Goddess Saraswati for intellect. These three are essential to find your life purpose. Plus, Diwali isn’t just about the fireworks – it’s like a yearly life audit, reviewing the past year and setting goals for the next.

My family runs a small business back in Bharat, and every year, it’s this whole ritual. We clean up shop, toss out the clutter, and get ready for the next business chapter. Bonuses and thank-you tokens flow to all those who helped us not just in business but also in life.  It’s all about looking back, figuring out where we’re at, and setting our sights for the future.  Just like we do those product planning reviews in the tech world.

So, this Diwali in the United States, I’m remembering this tradition. Got me thinking – we tech nerds are ace at setting KPIs for our projects, but what about our own lives? Shouldn’t we be doing the same kind of check-in? Like, is our energy going where it should for our personal growth? Is life hitting that ‘Have it all’ mark? If not, what tweaks can we make?

This Diwali, I took a breather to mull over these questions.

You’ve probably heard stories of people rocking amazing jobs but still feeling a bit lost. Burnout, happiness struggles – it’s real out here. That’s why these moments of self-reflection are game-changers.

So, as we wrap up 2023 very soon, I’m throwing it out there – take a minute to think about your life KPIs. Do a quick check-in, see where you’re at, and figure out the tweaks needed to sync up with your dreams. Here’s to finding that clarity and fulfillment as we cruise into whatever 2024 throws our way! 🧨🪔🪷🍯
